Battery housing, seals and underbody protection

The pack's case, its sealing, and the plate shielding it from the road.

How you know it is this

  • Impact damage to the underbody shield
  • A moisture or isolation warning
  • Corrosion at the pack's sealing face
  • Damage after grounding on a ramp or a speed bump

Worth knowing before you buy

  • THE SEAL IS WHAT KEEPS WATER OUT OF SEVERAL HUNDRED VOLTS. A compromised seal is a genuine safety issue, not a cosmetic one.
  • The underbody shield is sacrificial and is meant to be inspected after any grounding. Speed bumps and steep ramps are the usual culprits here.
  • Seals are single-use whenever the pack is opened.
  • Any impact to the pack area warrants an inspection even with no warning light.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number and photographs of the damage. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
