Also called resolver, rotor position sensor.
How you know it is this
- Juddering or a loss of smooth drive
- A drive system fault naming rotor position
- The car refusing to move with no mechanical noise
- Reduced power
Worth knowing before you buy
- Without its signal the inverter cannot drive the motor at all — so a small sensor stops the car exactly as a failed motor would.
- Much cheaper than a motor or an inverter, and worth establishing first.
- Usually requires calibration after fitting.
- Often inside the motor housing, so access needs isolation even though the part is small.
What we need to quote it. The chassis number and the fault codes. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
