Electric drive motor — front

The front drive motor, on an all-wheel-drive EQ model.

How you know it is this

  • Reduced power or a loss of front drive
  • A whine or vibration under acceleration
  • A drive system fault naming the front unit
  • Coolant leaking from the motor housing

Worth knowing before you buy

  • A single-motor car has nothing here. Confirm the car is all-wheel drive before ordering.
  • The motor is usually supplied as a unit with its reduction gearbox, and often with the inverter — establish what is included, because it changes the price substantially.
  • Motors themselves are reliable. Most 'motor' faults turn out to be the inverter, the resolver or the cooling.
  • High voltage. Isolation and trained fitting.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number, the fault codes, and confirmation the car is all-wheel drive. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
