Also called OBC, AC charger.
How you know it is this
- AC charging not working while DC rapid charging still does — the clearest sign
- Charging much slower than it used to be
- A charging system fault
- Charging that stops shortly after starting
Worth knowing before you buy
- AC FAILS BUT DC STILL WORKS is the signature, because the two take different paths. That one observation separates the on-board charger from almost everything else.
- It is liquid-cooled on most cars, so a cooling fault presents as reduced charging rather than as an overheat warning.
- Coded to the car.
- Before ordering, eliminate the cable, the wall box and the supply. Those account for a great many 'charger' faults and cost nothing to test.
What we need to quote it. The chassis number, the fault codes, and whether DC rapid charging still works. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
