Insulation monitoring sensor

The device continuously checking that the high-voltage system is electrically isolated from the car's body.

How you know it is this

  • An isolation fault, sometimes with the car refusing to drive or charge
  • A fault that appears in the wet and clears when dry
  • A high-voltage warning after a coolant leak or water ingress

Worth knowing before you buy

  • AN ISOLATION FAULT IS A SAFETY WARNING, not a nuisance code. It means the system may no longer be isolated from the bodywork and it should be investigated rather than cleared.
  • A fault that comes in the wet and goes when dry is genuine and usually points at a specific component with a failing seal.
  • The monitor itself rarely fails. It is normally reporting something real — coolant in a component, a damaged cable screen, or moisture in a connector.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number and the fault codes. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
