Electric coolant pumps

The electric pumps circulating coolant through the battery, the drive unit and the electronics. There are usually several.

How you know it is this

  • A thermal management fault
  • Charging speed reduced to protect the pack
  • Overheating warnings under load
  • A pump that is silent when it should be running

Worth knowing before you buy

  • SEVERAL PUMPS, DIFFERENT CIRCUITS. The fault code names which, and buying the wrong one is easy.
  • Thermal management is what protects the most expensive part of the car. A failed pump here is not a minor fault.
  • In this climate these run far more than they would in a cooler market, and they wear accordingly.
  • Low-voltage parts in a high-voltage car — the pump itself is usually a straightforward job.

What we need to quote it. The chassis number and the fault codes. The chassis number settles the generation, the body and usually the engine in seventeen characters — it is on your mulkiya. A photograph of the old part helps where there is more than one version.
