What it is
The cabinet or rack that houses the switches, patch panels, servers and power distribution for a site — sized and laid out so the room stays serviceable, not just something the cabling gets pushed into.
Wall-mount vs floor-standing
Wall-mount (6U-12U) suits a small office comms cupboard. Floor-standing (18U-42U) is for a proper server or comms room with more equipment and better airflow needs.
Cable management & cooling
Poorly managed cabling inside a cabinet is the single biggest cause of a comms room becoming unserviceable within a year — proper management and airflow layout is part of the fit-out, not an afterthought.

CCTV & Surveillance Systems

Cameras, recording and remote viewing, supplied and installed as one job. Cameras come in 2, 4, 5 and 8 MP in fixed dome and bullet, or PTZ where one camera has to cover a whole approach; all PoE, and IP66 or IP67 where they are outdoors. Recorders are 4, 8, 16 and 32 channel. Two numbers decide the system and neither is the camera count: how much detail you need at the far end of the view, and how many days of recording you have to keep. Tell us those and the number of positions, and it is priced as a system.

Access Control & Facial Recognition Systems

Controlling who gets through which door, and keeping the record of it. Readers are priced per door — facial recognition, fingerprint and card, or card only — and the lock set is chosen by the door: an electric strike for a timber frame, a magnetic lock sized to the leaf for anything heavier. Standalone units suit one or two doors; past that a networked system puts users, schedules and the audit trail on one platform. Tell us the number of doors and whether you need the record for payroll or only for security.

Turnstiles & Physical Access

Turnstiles control people one at a time, which is what a gate cannot do. Single and double lane tripod units, powder-coated or SUS304 stainless, with a 580 mm pass lane and a throughput of thirty to forty people a minute — enough for a site gate at shift change. Mechanical, or with RFID card control built into the head. Full-height and speed-gate types are available where the entrance is unmanned or the building is a lobby rather than a yard: tell us the headcount and whether anybody is watching the door.

Biometric Time & Attendance Systems

Terminals that record who was on site and when, and the software that turns that into a payroll report. Fingerprint or facial recognition, sized by how many people are enrolled — a thousand or three thousand users. On a construction site facial recognition usually wins: it works with gloves on and with dust and cement on the hands, which is exactly where fingerprint readers start failing. Software is set up once, against your shift patterns and pay periods, not per terminal.

A-to-Z Networking & IT Infrastructure Setup

The network everything else runs on — cameras, access control and attendance terminals all sit on it. Switches in 8, 16, 24 and 48 port, with PoE where cameras and access points draw power down the same cable. Router and firewall once per site; Wi-Fi access points per point, indoor or weather-rated for a yard. Or the whole thing as one project: cabling, cabinets, switching and Wi-Fi, tested and handed over. Count the devices that need a port before you count the ports — cameras are usually the number that decides the switch.
