How many watts — replace by lumens, not by habit
LEDVANCE's own figures for the floodlights in this table come out at about 90 lumens per watt: a 50 W gives 4,500 lumens and a 150 W gives 13,500. An old halogen floodlight gives roughly 20 lumens per watt, which is why a 500 W halogen is replaced by something nearer 100 W, not 500.
| Replacing | Rough output | LED floodlight to look at |
|---|---|---|
| 150 W halogen | about 2,500 lm | 30 W |
| 300–500 W halogen | about 5,000–9,000 lm | 50–100 W |
| 1,000 W halogen | about 16,000–20,000 lm | 200 W |
Arithmetic from typical halogen output and LEDVANCE's stated lumens. Read the lumen figure on the row before ordering — the ranges differ.
